Amazon Set to Release First 3D Smartphone Later This Year
Ever since its inception in 1994, Amazon has become one of the leaders of the virtual world the internet has brought to us. First started primarily as an online book retailer, Amazon has grown to a behemoth, whose name is virtually synonymous with internet sales.
Amazon is nowhere near finished with making its mark, a claim that the announcement of an impending release of a 3D smartphone would confirm. While tons of different smartphone models already exist, this would be the first of its kind to incorporate the magic of 3D into its makeup.
So what can we expect from this upcoming marvel? While exact specs are still forthcoming, enough spoilers and inside information have been discovered that should truly give us an accurate glimpse of this exciting prospect.
The basic hardware of Amazon’s upcoming smartphone is very similar to what you see in current models. These include a 4.7-inch measurement diagonally, full-HD resolution, 2GB (gigabytes) of RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
The cameras found in the proposed specs for Amazon’s model are where things truly get interesting. Instead of the two cameras found in most current models, one rear facing and one front facing, it will have SIX!
The primary purpose of these extra cameras’, which are lower in power and use infrared, is to track the movement of your face and eyes in relation to the screen of the phone. The screen would constantly update the visual elements located on it whenever head or eye movement is made. This in turn would allow for a full 3D experience without the need for glasses.
Tilting your smartphone in different directions will allow additional information to be displayed on the screen, without any input commands needed from you. For example, if an unfamiliar icon is present, tilting the phone would reveal labels under the icon that would reveal its purpose.
