Urban Daddy, if you haven’t been, is your database of whats new and whats “in” in the fields of nightlife, food, style, and leisure. Though it has a “National” option, Urban Daddy is best used on a city to city basis.
When I downloaded Urban Daddy’s app or “Urban Daddy Mobile” I was expecting nothing more than the mobile-version of their website. Such is not the case, the app is far cooler. The app prompts you “it’s Saturday, around noon, in Gramercy (or wherever and whenever it is.) What do you want to do? Who are you with?” For “What do you want to do” the app gives you a bunch of options such as “I want to dance” or “I want drinks” or ” For “who are you with?” it gives you way more options that you thought there could be, such as “my friends,” or “my mistress.” It than spits out a list of recommendations, with their accompanying information, rating, pictures, etc.
The app does have some issues, and it is really only useful in bigger cities like NYC, LA, or San Fran. Nonetheless the interface is fun and intuitive, and the experience is cooler than your average Yelp visit.
