Google Inbox is still invite only – in theory. If you’ve you been longing to try out their new gmail app you just have to ask. Google is been pretty liberal with its invites – it might have started out a bit slow, but now, anyone who asks has been getting invites the same day. All you have to do is send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org OR bettery yet, find someone with who already has Inbox and ask them for an invite. Google just gave all users a 10-pack of invites to give out.
The app is available for Android and iOS and aims to give to change the way email is viewed – by bundling items together and simply making you swipe left or right – depending on if you want to be reminded about it later OR if you are done with the email. Its a great concept in theory, but there are some hitches – like when things are just lumped into categories they don’t belong in. Its not perfect, and it might not be the answer that power users are looking for, but it feels like a step in the right direction.
So there you go – there is no need to STILL have not tried Google Inbox. Just pester one of your friends – they’re sure to have enough invites to hand out now. 🙂
