HTC announced the successor to their mid-range Desire series at CES 2015. The new Desire smartphone features an impressive 5.5 inch display with full 1080p HD, 2GB RAM and Android Lollipop. While that is all well and good, almost everyone is really waiting for HTC to announce the successor to their flagship HTC One series.
The HTC One series has made HTC the most successful smartphone brand after Apple and Samsung. The HTC One M7 and M8 both released to wide acclaim and quickly became one of the best Android phones you could buy in 2013 and 2014. Because of this success, people are eagerly waiting for its successor – the HTC One M9 to be announced.
It has been rumored that the HTC One M9, codenamed “Hima” will be released towards the end of March. According to Chinese-based leaker @upleaks, HTC will host a special event to unveil their new flagship, just as it did with the M8. Speculation has been rife about what kind of specs the new smartphone will carry, with one source even stating that HTC will go with 2 variants, featuring different processors. One variant is said to be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, while the other is said to feature a 64-bit MediaTek processor.
Other features are said to include a 5-inch full 1080p HD display, 3GB or RAM, Android Lollipop with HTC’s Sense 7 UI, a 20 megapixel main camera and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. That said, all this is just speculation at the moment with not real concrete evidence to support any of the above. One thing is for sure, the new HTC One M9 will be a flagship feature phone that will give the yet-to-be released Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Apple iPhones a run for its money.
