What word is made up of four letters yet is also made up of three? Although this word is written with eight letters, and then with four, it rarely consists of six, and is never written with five? What is the word? Okay, that’s impossible, and I am totally kidding, I found that puzzle on Google. I just wanted to welcome you with a mind game, because today I would like to introduce you to five of the latest must-download-now puzzle apps.
1. First, designed for iPhone and iPad users, we have the Rop app.
With a 4.5 star customer review, this app will give your brain a run for its money. Makers of the app invite users to literally bend their brains by beating level after level of pattern design.
Here is how it works:
Bend the “ropes” to form the same shape that you see right before your eyes, as you continue the patterns become more difficult, and yes more mind boggling! Do you think you have the patience, skill, and mind-bending abilities to conquer all 198 bending levels?
I’ll believe it when I see it. This app can be purchased for $0.99 on the Apple App Store, also available on Google Play. The third and latest version of that app has added 55 new bending levels, and a variety of “amazing game play mechanics.”
2. Next, we have the, Pop the Lock app.
This vibrantly colorful and simple puzzle let’s masterminds everywhere crack the ultimate code, however one mistake can send you right back to the starting line. Take a look at what this satisfied customer had to say about how the game works:
“A spinner rotates clockwise or counterclockwise quickly. Tapping the screen just as it lines up on the dot reverses the direction. Each level requires you to line up on one more dot than the last, and the dots’ positions are always random. This requires rapid reflexes to not tap too early or late, so it’s easy to learn but challenging to master.”
Feeling up to the task? The Pop the Lock app is FREE on the App Store. The current version of the app has a 4.5 star customer satisfaction rating and has currently been translated into the Chinese language in addition to English.
3. Prepare to be puzzled with this next app! See what I did there?
Anyway, next up on our list of puzzle apps, we have the 1010! app. Are you a fan of good old-fashioned Tetris? Well, this game may just bring you back to your happy place. 1010! is described as
“engaging, simple, and distinctive.”
Here is how you play:
“Drop blocks to create and destroy lines on the screen, both vertically and horizontally and keep the blocks from filling the screen.”
For a visual sneak peek, check out this video of 1010! and see for yourself! Thanks Gram Games for this addictive new challenge. 1010! is available on Google Play, App Store and Amazon.
4. Following 1010!, we have the Two Dots app, because well two is always better than one, right?
The makers of the hit mobile game Dots are back at it again, this time with dozens of new features. With 485 levels to conquer, do you think you have what it takes to help these brave and humanized dots tackle whatever the world throws at them?
According to the makers themselves, here are some reasons you may love the puzzle app:
Free to play!
Connect one Dot to another, sink anchors, make a line, extinguish flames, and more!
Adorable, fun and thoughtful design
Enjoy beautiful, minimal design and relaxing game music
Play at your own pace to figure out the perfect move without the stress of a timer
Challenge your friends on Facebook, beat their score, and earn medals
Make a square, not a circle, to clear every dot of a single color
Makers of Two dots have also included a version for the colorblind! This app has a 4.5 star customer rating on the App Store and is also available on Google Play.
5. To bring it all home, we have another dot inspired game, the Brain Dots app.
This app is a simple draw and train your brain game, designed all ages, children and adults. The Brain Dots app caters to 15 different languages across the globe and even has a twitter page: @braindots_app. Are you willing to let this app “test your logical thinking and mind flexibility.” If you ask me, it sounds like this app is smarter than I’ll ever be.
Here is how it works:
- Step 1. Bump the blue and red balls together by drawing lines and shapes to move the balls.
- Step 2. Collect pens! Begin with a simple pencil; move on to colored pencils, crayons and so on as you clear levels.
- Step 3. Share your victory moment with friends and fellow players, with a picture or video of the winning moment.
There you have it, I hope you have enjoyed these apps, and I really hope that your minds have been as baffled as my own. I shall leave all of you dedicated gamers and puzzle enthusiasts inspired to go out into the world and beat the levels of these dueling puzzle apps.
Good luck, you’re going to need it!
