Samsung Galaxy Mega: Phone or Tablet

Samsung first launched the hefty, but extremely stylish Galaxy Note, then came the even bigger Galaxy Note II and now we have the father of all phones, the Samsung Galaxy Mega.

The Samsung Galaxy Mega has been making all the phone lovers confused over whether it can truly be called a phone at all. The sheer size of the latest android phone launched by Samsung has some people speculating the fact that the Samsung Galaxy Mega should be called as a tablet.

The largest android phone ever produced is armed with a 6.3-inch screen that just does not seem to fit into everyone’s pocket. This is an issue for people who prefer tighter clothes and cannot quite figure out how to carry their phone around. The upside is that even at 7 ounces it is not all that heavy, but operating it with just one hand can be somewhat of a monumental task.

The Samsung Galaxy Mega comes with similar features like any other mid range Smartphone’s. It has a 1,280 x 720 screen, a dual core 1.7GHz processor and an extremely handy 8-mega pixel camera. If you will notice, the resolution is lesser than its smaller counterpart, the Galaxy S4, which comes with a 1,920 x 1,080 super AMOLED display.

It comes installed with the 4.2.2 “Jelly Bean software” having an internal memory of 16GB, which you can obviously augment with a micro SD card as per your requirements.

Despite its unique software characteristics like the multi-window feature, where you can run two separate applications simultaneously on different parts of the screen, the highlight of the phone still remains the insanely huge screen.

Can you call this a phone or a tablet?

Almost overlapping in the tablet territory, once you have used the Samsung Galaxy Mega, it makes the other Smartphone’s look somewhat small, which begs the question, once you go Mega, can you really go back?
